What is the difference between a W-shaped and a U-shaped multi-touch marketing attribution model?

The U shape multi-touch attribution models give the most credit to the first and last touches giving less credit to the mid touches. It is used when you want to understand which touchpoints are good at creating a conversion.
While the W shape multi-touch model focuses on three touchpoints the first, middle and last. It is best used for complex campaigns that have many touchpoints.
